Preparing for First Saturday at the Chicken Farm Art Center

Preparing for First Saturday at the Chicken Farm Art Center

June is almost here, and with it comes one of my favorite rhythms in San Angelo — First Saturday at the Chicken Farm Art Center. Every month, local artists gather under the trees and the wide Texas sky to share the work that’s been quietly growing in their studios. On June 6th, I’ll be there again with a fresh collection of hand‑painted ceramic tiles from my Tapestry of Tiles world.

These pieces have been unfolding slowly over the past few weeks — soft blooms, mythic creatures, color stories that shift in the light. Each tile is its own little universe, sealed and ready to be held, turned, and adopted by someone who feels that spark of connection.

If you’re local, I’d love for you to stop by, browse, say hello, or simply wander the booths and enjoy the creativity gathered in one place. First Saturday has a way of reminding me why I make art in the first place — it’s about presence, community, and the joy of sharing something handmade.

I’ll be bringing a mix of originals, new blooms, and a few surprises. I can’t wait to see which pieces find their homes.
